Jim Lauro Brewster, 84, beloved partner, father, grandfather, and little one of God, died on August 19 soon after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Pharr, Texas to Lauro Falcon Brewster and Ofelia Villarreal Brewster. He graduated from PSJA High College in 1956 and went on to earn a B.S., a Master’s in counseling, and a Master’s in Administration, all from Pan American College.
Jim met the really like of his existence, Keta, throughout their childhood and devoted 63 decades to their relationship. Collectively they elevated 4 little ones: Janice, Laura, Jim Jr., and Jennifer.
Jim was an elementary faculty trainer in the PSJA University District. He taught at both Farias and Buckner Elementary schools. After leaving the classroom, he labored as an elementary school counselor at Doedyn’s Elementary Faculty for additional than twenty decades. A prosperous and highly regarded educator, Jim had a lot of former pupils who arrived back again to thank him around the many years. Jim will eternally be remembered for his support to his neighborhood. He served as a Pharr City Commissioner for 12 years and as Mayor Professional Tem. He was also active in Pharr Industrial Foundation, Bridge Board, Amigos del Valle, Pharr Economic Growth Company, Friends of the Pharr Memorial Library, Pharr Dawn Kiwanis, and the Board of Line and Adjustment. Of his contributions to the community, Jim was most happy of his function in furthering the enhancement of the Town of Pharr and in aiding build the Pharr Worldwide Bridge. Jim was also very pleased of his company to our country serving in the Nationwide Guard and the Military as a tank commander.
Jim was also a male of fantastic religion. He was faithful member of La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. He served as the church’s treasurer for 40 decades and also served as a youth counselor and a Trustee.
Jim is survived by his wife, Keta Brewster his 4 children: Janice Brewster (Cliff) Martinez, Laura Brewster (Scott Apparent), Jim (Melissa) Brewster Jr, and Jennifer Brewster 8 grandchildren: Matthew Brewster Martinez, Michael Brewster Martinez, David Brewster-Acosta, Rachel (Brewster) Distinct, Victoria Brewster-Martinez, Jordan Brewster, Jake Brewster, and Jim Brewster III as very well as many nieces, nephews, and prolonged spouse and children customers.
